I am really trying to prove or disprove a certain John Stewart who bought land in Halifax Co VA ca 1762 and sold land in the same county ca 1764. John was married to a SUSANNA. NOW, all the Stewarts from the Lydia Harrison Stewart/Samuel Stewart line of DE to VA to Rowan/Surry Co NC claim that this is John and his wife, the widow Susanna Fulkerson Bledsoe. Susanna was the daughter of Frederick Fulkerson, she married Thomas Bledsoe and he was killed in an Indian raid in 1758. Frederick Fulkerson was living in nearby Halifax Co VA (present day Patrick Co VA), and bought a large tract of land in Rowan/Surry Co NC ca. 1758. Susanna married John Stewart, the son of Samuel and Lydia Harrison Stewart ca. 1759-1760. Researchers of this line claim that the land deed of 1764 was this JOHN, they also claim that the sons of this couple, David and William, were both born in Halifax Co VA. William Stewart is later living in the Scott Co VA area. My question is this, does anyone re!
searching this line have the Rev War pension application for William or David Stewart of Scott Co VA? Most of the time this would state place of birth and I´d really like to know if it says they were born in VA or NC.
