HI Listers,
I have a Christian STEWART, my great great grandmother, born in 1836,
Paisley, Renfrewshire. Parents John Stewart and Anne nee Faulds. So
the name Christian for a female is even more recent than the 1600's
in Scotland.
She was called Christina by her family.
regards,
Bev Rodan
Just a thought: Christian was also a female name back in the 1600s in
County Antrim, Ireland, in the families of the Stewarts of Ballintoy.
Mary
