My most ancient Stewart is Robert Stewart who married Janet Anderson in Yarrow, Selkirkshire. He was born ca 1780/1790 in Yarrow, Selkirkshire. He had five sons: William, Adam, Thomas, James, and Robert. William followed one of his sons to Warren Co., Ohio in 1856. I have lost him in Ohio. William married William Fowler in Scotland and had 7 children: Agnes, Robert (the first to come to America with a herd of sheep for the Shaker Community inWarren Co.), Janet, Elizabeth, Mary, Helen, and James. Agnes married William A. Tait in Selkirk, settled in Red Lion Township in Warren Co., OH, then removed to Blackford Co., IN in 1880 along with all of their sons and daughters.
