This is the area from which I come, but I don't know the names..

I do remember meeting a Ralph Stites while visiting my brother's
mother-in-law in Union, Franklin Co., MO several years ago.. He has since passed away..

There was also another Stites family that lived around Sullivan, Salem and
Texas Co. MO.. So far I haven't been able to connect them to our family of
Stites' who came from Smith Co. TN shortly before 1820 to Franklin Co. MO.. My gggg
grandfather supposedly was born in NY.. went thru or near NC (the best we can
tell) and into Smith Co. around 1806 or so. By 1820, they were in Franklin
Co. MO.

I grew up in the area of Gasconade Co. MO.. and don't recall many other
Stites families being there.. many of my line moved to the SW part of MO about
1850.
