Well I think this year has been pretty productive. I really haven't found any
more on my STITT's but have found the colleratol family of WILSON's. I've
tried back door, front door, side door, and no luck on the STITT, William.
All I have is a mention of the family in the Doolittle book, that says they
were a very fine Virginia Family., also mentioned them as fine Virginia Stock.
I also have b. abt. 1777 in Pa. for Wm. and a marriage bond for him and Nancy
Ann Wilson.

Here's the way I see it. Arthur Wilson m. Sarah Doolittle, dau of Moses and
Mary Scott Doolittle. Arthur had Nancy Ann Wilson, and she married William
STITT, in 1809 near Morgantown, VA., West Augusta co. VA. He also had Jesse
Wilson, who married Rebecca McClellan in 1820 in Butler Co. OH. Jesse's
daughter Sarah Ann Wilson was the second wife of Obadiah Wilson STITT, son of
Nancy Ann Wilson and William STITT.

in 1811 The STITT family, consisting of William and Nancy, Rebecca and Benj.
Doolittle, Arthur and Sarah Wilson, and their children went up the Monongalia
River to Pa, where they connected to the Oh River into Oh. Benjamin and his
brother had river boats., so maybe they went on Benjamin's boat. William and
Nancy went to Dayton, Montgomery co. OH, Rebecca and Benjamin went to
Champaign co. OH. Jesse and Rebecca McClellan met and married in Butler co.
Oh, he was listed in Franklin Co. Oh as a justice of the peace.
Arthur and Sarah located in Tippacanoe Co. IN. where Sarah died, and he
married Elizabeth Doolittle, sister of Sarah. She had been married before to a
Wade, and brought with her to the marriage 3 children. Arthur died in
Tippicanoe Co. IN.

All of Nancy and William's children were born in OH, between 1815 and 1828. In
the 1830 census of Hamilton Co. IN. there is listed a William STITT, in that
same area in 1840 is Obadiah Wilson Stitt, Nancy STITT and Robert STITT. We do
not know who Robert is? He was 10 years older than Obadiah, so he was not a
brother, he could have been a brother of Rebecca STITT.Since 1840 no William
was listed we suspect he died in that 1830-1840 span.
Jesse and Rebecca McClellan WILSON also located in Hamilton Co. In. Rebecca
STITT and Benjamin DOOLITTLE then located at Pekin, Tazwell, IL. Where they
died later. Jesse and Rebecca were also in IL at one time.. Jesse a minister
went to Sangamon Co. to settle a dispute between a minister and his member.
Jesse said the dispute was never settled.
In 1850 Obadiah and wife and children were listed in the Hamilton Co. IN. US
census.
In 1855 Obadiah and his children and wife were located in Mahaska Co. and
Page Co. IO. They owned a store, and in his will, he left the land in Page co.
to his son William Wilson STITT.
Jesse and his wife Rebecca and one son Jesse with family went on to Medford
Jackson Co. OR. They're buried there.

In 1856 Obadiah and wife, and children located in Nodaway Co. Mo. In Austin
STITT's biography, (son of Obadiah by first wife Lucinda Fallis) it states
that his father pre-empted a claim from the government for land in Burlington
Junction, Nodaway Co. Mo.
In 1860 Obadiah, wife and children located in Franklin, Douglas Co. Ks.
(Lawrence) He was there until 1870, when he relocated to Dana, Bates Co. MO.
Purchased 1500 acres of land, and died there in 1889 Nancy Ann Wilson STITT,
mother of Obadiah Wilson STITT, died in 1892 in Merwin, BATES co. Mo. Sarah
Ann Wilson STITT, wife of Obadiah Wilson STITT, d. in 1895 Merwin, Bates Co.
Mo.
Children of William and Nancy Ann STITT were (not including Obadiah)
Phoebe STITT m. William Edwards May 30, 1848 in Hamilton Co. In.
Rachel STITT m. William H. Colburn, October 19, 1837 in Hamilton Co. IN
William STITT m. Elizabeth Carney in 1848 in Hamilton Co. IN. They were
located in Wakarusa Creek, Douglas Co. Ks. at the same time Obadiah was in
that area.
Mariah Jane STITT m. August 22, 1850 in Hamilton Co. IN. to Jordan Peyton.
There were later found in Cedar Creek, Mo.

And another interesting twist.

Lydia Wilson, daug. of Arthur Wilson and Sarah Doolittle m. John Jr.
McClellan, in Butler Co. OH, and they were the parents of Carolyn McClellan,
wife of Austin STITT, son of Obadiah STITT, and a cousin of Rebecca McClellan
who m. Jesse Wilson.

I think I have been very fortunate to find this much.

How about each of you posting your finds for this year, or something like what
I have above.

Also by the way, we have 43 on the list now. We need 42 of you to post.
