I got a deal at Ancestry and now can search the whole ancestry data base. I
have been doing some research and have made a few connections. The most
important thing I learned is that John Streate a signer of the 1609 Virginia
Charter has a will listing a son Anthony in the Ancestry data base called:
England: Canterbury - Wills and Administrations in the Probate Registry at
Canterbury, 1396-1558 and 1640-1650
Calendar of Wills and Administrations now preserved in the
Probate Registry at Canterbury, 1396-1558

I have not figured out how to access this data base yet and I am
beginning to believe that it is only a reference to a data base. So one of
the things I hope this email will do it alert someone who can get into the
Canterbury files to looking in the data base to find John Streate's will who
will share it with the rest of us.

Some other things I have learned about John Streate a signer of the
1609 Virginia charter include:

He was born in Lambourn, Berkshire, England, in 1589 and died in
London in 1672. he appears in the VA Early Census Index as John Streate,
State: VA, County: Virginia Colony, Township: Jamestown Year: 1607. He may
be living in or visiting the colony in 1607. He married Dorothy Cheney who
was born on 28 October 1591 in Lambourn, Berkshire, England and also died in
London. They were married on 6 November 1615 in Lambourn, Berkshire,
England. This means that John was probably single when in was in Jamestown.
I think we need to determine if he has descendants in America before we
spend a lot of time inputting his ancestors.

Anyone who can help with this will be greatly appreciated.
