I do not have time to pursue this discussion at any length, as I am
attempting (so far unsuccessfully) to connect my Internet account via a new
computer.
However, I would suggest you focus on Brunswick County, Va., for starters.
A William Stroud, b. ca. 1700, and probably his first wife Hannah (Rose?)
had a son Thomas among their children. I know little about him other than
that he was b. ca. 1736 and eventually died in Georgia. The family
generally migrated into North Carolina via Granville and Orange Counties.
Granville County marriage records show a Thomas Stroud marrying a Sarah
Moss, widow, on 24 March 1763.
But you are seeking a Thomas with wife Elizabeth -----. I suppose she may
have been a first wife who died young, possibly in child birth.
I have no connection to Thomas, and this is the extent of my information on
him--other than that if it's the same guy, he should show up with brothers
Joh, William, Peter and Yearby.
