I am sorry. I did not put a place because I am not absolutely sure; but
signs point to KY, AR, OK and IL for starters.

I *think* Susan Catherine (STROUD) CLIFTON, (born: 1/23/1867
and died: 12/27/1945), might have been from KY, or AR.

I also *think* that her husband, Hiram CLIFTON (born: 4/19/1866 died:
2/23/1923) was from IL, (because that is where his parents were from).

I know that they were in OK at some time because their son, (my
grandfather), James Thomas CLIFTON (born: 9/1/1893 - died: 9/30/1965) was
born in
Fort Gibson, Muskogee Co., Oklahoma.

I found mention of a A Susan (STROUD)and Hiram CLIFTON, at the web site of
Univ. of Arkansas, Fayetteville under their "Special Collections" section.
It was listed under the family papers of CORA ANNE STROUD JENKINS. I don't
know if this is the "right" Hiram and Catherine and I cannot afford the
expense of the copies at this time. Following is what it says:

When I wrote requesting the prices of copies it turned out to be hundreds
of dollars. I will have to wait for a time before I am able to order them.

I also found their names connected with a site called "KLAMM Descendents".
Susan and Hiram are mentioned along with two children, Dalta and "Jimmy".
That is pretty close to be just coincidence, but I have been unable to
contact anyone for verification.

Does anybody recognize any of these names? Thank you for any clues or
leads at all.
