Hello Everyone :)
Last year I posted my family information on Amanda Stroud, Daughter of
Robert Stroud and Trisha Stroud was kind enough to send the information that
she had on my family.
This summer I went to KY to do some researching and ran across a
"Treasure Box" at my mothers that had been in her closet for close to 30
years and before that it had been in my grandmothers attic for probably 40
years. It was full of letters, postcards, graduation announcements and some
wedding announcements.
There are letters to my grandmother Lucy Marie Weaver Rigney, my great
grandmother, Mariah Underwood Rigney and my Great, great grandmother, Amanda
Stroud Bolar Rigney.
Briefly the outline of my family is this....

In the box of letters there is correspondence from Amanda's brothers and
sisters and some of their children. One brother moved to Arizona, her sister
Melissa moved to (I believe) Mississippi, and I think her sister Eliza moved
to MO. I'm still sorting thro the letters and cards, basically putting 2 and
2 together. Most of the cards have to return address nor do they have
surnames, mostly just first names, and some of those nicknames, but together
with empty envelopes, graduation and marriage announcements I'm starting to
get the information pieced together.
There is also a picture of a niece, her name I'm fairly sure, is Anna
Stroud. Her family lived in Arizona, she taught in Kansas. The dates involved
are before 1923, which is when Amanda died.
I don't believe anyone mentioned in the letters is living anymore and I
would like to post some of the letters on my Maxpages website but before I
did that I wanted to send this to the list and both make SURE no one will be
affected and see if anyone would like copies of the letters and or picture. I
realize this is a little vague as far as names go, but I will supply names
ASAP, and considering my limited knowledge (I'm basically going on what
Trisha Stroud sent me as to information on Amanda's family) I'm sure there
are folks out there that know a lot more than I do.
Anyway, if anyone wants to contact me, please put Amanda Stroud in the
subject line, our new little addition was two weeks old yesterday and it gets
a little crazy around here :) This way I will spot the email and answer as
quick as I can.
