I descend from William T. Stroud of Revere, MA who claims b: Isle of Wight Co, VA. abt 1845 parents Thomas Stroud. Martha Pope. No Thomas/Martha in that county in 1850, 1860, or 1870 fed. census.

There is one William T. in IoW Co. 1850 fed census, father Lemuel, mother (consort) Mary, sisters Mary E. and Martha. Lem dies1853. Will mentions, does not name surviving children. Hardy Pope witnesses. Mary dies abt. 1858. William H. Darden becomes guardian of William T., William W. Joyner becomes guardian of Mary and Martha.

Lemuel parents John and Amy Stroud. All use "Stroude"

Any help? I can't find William H. Darden and William T. Stroud in 1860, 1870, nor Stroud sisters with Joyner 1860, 1870.
