Dear Norman, yes we are kin. William Robert Stuart was in the Civil War, he
left a wife in Polk Co TN and moved to KY, where he remarried 2 other times.
Quite a character. Austin Stuart married Susanna Bridges and was the son of
Nathaniel Stewart JR, son of Nathaniel Sr, son of John Stewart Sr my 5th
great grandfather. You have many cousins, and some were at our Stuart
reunion in VA on August 2. My Stewarts/Stuarts stayed in VA, while 2
brothers moved on to Greenville Co Sc ca. 1795, moving to Buncombe Co NC by
1810 and 1812 (Edward Sr and brother Nathaniel SR.)
I walked on your 3rd great grandfathers land, Nathaniel Stuart SR born ca.
1747-1753 died in Buncombe Co NC by 1824. Yes, your Nathaniel JR was born
in either Surry Co NC or Lambsburg VA(Carroll Co ), near Mt Airy, NC, home
of Andy Griffeth and better known as Mayberry. I have tons on this line so
let me know what you need and I can also put you in contact with folks from
your direct line.
You are a desendant of John Stewart , born ca. 1725 died in Surry Co NC
March 1806. Welcome to the family.
Teresa Stuart de Rios
