You might want to check the descendency of Capt James Stuart and Isaac Stuart of the pre-colonial British military.
James was second in command at Fort Loudon in the 1750's

I'm trying to find the parents of Charles Stuart. I believe he was born
about 1793 in the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina. He enlisted in
the war of 1812 from there in November of 1813. He married Elizabeth Hess
in Cincinnati, Ohio at an unknown date. But, in 1820 he received 160 acres
of land in Arkansas for his military service. He had at least two children
with Elizabeth HESS, James and Michael. I believe they were both born in
Kentucky between 1810-1820. Charles died in Arkansas and his children both
died in Missouri. Any additional information on Charles and who his parents
might be would be greatly appreciated.
