Hi Sue,

I haven't found anything new as to proving who his parents were. I did find
a new cousin still in Norwalk, but he didn't have anything to add but his
line - I'll get that to you.

Haven't spent much time researching as I had to pack everything away when we
got the two grandsons to raise . Can't believe that was 7 years ago! They
have decided to stay home through college - DBCC has gone to 4 years, plus
we have Embry Riddle for Cory (17) who graduates high school this year - and
a branch of UCF. Our daughter is 16 now and doing dual enrollment. She is
excited that they are bringing a medical school here - through FSU instead
of her favored UF - but costs must be considered, so she'll probably be here
for awhile too. As a result of that we had a larger house built and moved
in New Year's Eve! It will take a bit longer to get settled, but I've
unpacked most of the genealogy - actually have room for it!

Last info we found was the cousin in Baltimore claimed to have received
proof that Robert, son of Francis II and Isabel Seaton Stuart was in fact
alive and in the colonies when Francis died and his estate settled - she got
a copy of some of the estate settlement papers - forgot what they were
called. I haven't seen the papers though - thought she was going to copy
them to all of us, but no one seems to have received anything. That
disagrees with Burke's Peerage, but agrees with the Scotish Peerage book
someone sent me. Norm's former boss's brother-in-law, who lives in London,
was not able to find anything at - where Robert the prisoner was
transported from. They would not allow him to search the records we needed.

With so many of us back to Robert one would think something would turn up!
We know James Stuart - "Jimmy Strength" - was in fact a cousin of Charles
the Pretender and received an allowance. His statue is being restored. If
something on that line would turn up it might help us, but as far as I know,
they've had no luck either.

Maybe Robert was hatched {: > }...oh well. We just have to keep trying.
Our cousin in Norwalk has not had any luck with finding any clues to lead us
further back - and he is searching records there. He was telling me about
the landing today and all. One thing for sure is that our Robert had a lot
of money to purchase all he did.

I hope to get back to research very soon.

Gwen
