Hi all,
You have probably all seen Trevor Rix's recent message re the SFHS
volunteers wonderful efforts in indexing the 1851 Census for Suffolk - I
for one, as I am sure do you all, want to offer my sincere
congratulations and thanks to the SFHS members for their efforts on
members behalf.
As the listowner of this Suffolk County Mailing List, I just wanted to
take this opportunity to encourage those subscribers who are not
currently members of the Suffolk Family History Society to give serious
consideration to joining this wonderful Society. Having been a member
of numerous UK county FHS's in the past, I have found SFHS to be the one
which stands head and shoulders over the rest for the low cost of
joining, the quality of service they provide to members, the exceptional
range and scope of indexing and other information access services they
offer in the form of publications of indexes, etc. It is the only
Society I have found that send free each year to all members a
microfiche copy of the Members Interest List, and it is also the only UK
FHS I have found that has set up a network of people in Australia, NZ,
USA and Canada to whom members can forward their joining fee and/or
annual membership renewal in their own currency.
As Trevor Rix said:- Suffolk Family History Society has one of the
lowest subscription rates for membership at only 6 pounds per year UK or
8 pounds per year airmail (plus 2 pounds initial registration fee,
mainly to cover the production costs of the superb Presentation Pack
which all new members receive).
To find out about joining and the name and contact address for your
local Australian, NZ, USA or Canadian contact, go to the SFHS homepage
at:-
http://sentinel.mcc.ac.uk/genuki/big/eng/SFK/sfhs/sfhs.htm
and click on "Membership:UK & Overseas".
Enjoy,
