Hi Folks,

My mother-in-law (whom I address as 'Boss', and is rarely wrong :>)) syas
that there may be two interpretations:
1. In areas where Linen is made the colour of the cloth was naturally cream,
until it had been spread on the adjacent fields to 'bleach' in the sun.
2. She also spreads any cloth (even including small carpets and rugs) on the
dew-sodden lawn on a fine morning to remove stains. I can't explain how it
works, but it does, but than she 'charms warts too! Now you know why I call
her boss!
