Dear Richard,
My ancestor, William Cranmer married Grace (presumably Alcock) if the
IGI files were correct. He was recorded as one of the first settlers of
Southold, L.I. in or about 1640. I susspect he emigrated from the East
Anglia area put have not been able to tie down his place of origin. I also
have some information on an Alcock that married a Soper in Boston in the
1600s. Let me know if your interested and if any of your Alcocks emigrated
at that time.
