Below is the message I posted recently for our line of Cuttings.

I haven't yet chased any further down the line of the John and Mary Cutting
who could connect to you, but will keep you posted. There are many John &
Mary's in the LDS Familysearch across Suffolk, but our lot were from
Martlesham.

The John related to us was the son of another John & Mary. He would have
been 34 when your Sarah was born. The LDS records are : John Cutting was
born to John & Mary in 1783, Martlesham, Suffolk (Batch No. 0960865) and IGI
record for the marriage of John Cutting and Mary Walford on 8 April 1783 at
Martlesham Suffolk (Batch No. 8125431).

Hi all !

I am searching for anyone with connections to the CUTTING family of
MARTLESHAM or PLAYFORD, SUFFOLK prior to 1834.

My name is Steve Cutting and I am an Australian trying to find my family
tree roots back in Suffolk. I am relatively inexperienced in this game and
need some assistance on how to verify the accuracy of LDS Family Search
records, from Australian soil.

We have been able to trace our Cutting family tree back in Australia to a
Thomas John George William Cutting, born in Harpstedt, Germany in 25
September 1834. His father is listed as Thomas Augustus Cutting
(AFN:F26W-CS) with birth recorded as <1808 Harpstedt, Germany , while T.A
Cutting’s wife, Louise Catherine Dorothee Schrader (AFN:F26W-DO) birth also
recorded as <1812 Harpstedt, Germany.

>From family legend, we believe Thomas Augustus Cutting was a Captain in the
Battle of Waterloo who moved to Germany as a military officer. I have found
an Family Search IGI records for Thomas Augustus Cutting (Batch Number
8002882) born 9 June 1796 in Playford Suffolk England. The IGI record lists
his Father as John Cutting and Mother Mary Walford (on Batch Number
8002882). I also found an IGI record for the marriage of John Cutting and
Mary Walford on 8 April 1783 at Martlesham Suffolk (Batch No. 8125431).

Further diggings found the children of John Cutting and Mary Walford as :
another Thomas Cutting born 1788 Martlesham Suffolk (Batch No. 0960865) and
christened 13 Jan 1788 Martlesham Suffolk (Batch No. P014211). I assume he
died before Thomas Augustus was born in 1796. A John Cutting was born to
John & Mary in 1783, Martlesham, Suffolk (Batch No. 0960865). A William
Cutting was born to John & Mary in 1786, Martlesham, Suffolk (Batch No.
0960865) and christened 13 Mar 1791 Martlesham Suffolk (Batch No. C063092).
It is interesting that Thomas Augustus's son was named Thomas John George
William Cutting.

I have found another LDS record of John Cutting being Christened on 31
October 1760 in Martlesham, with his father listed as Robert, and mother
Mary. So I am now trying to confirm if this John is of my line and if the
next level is Robert Cutting born 1720 to 1740 around Martlesham.

Any hints on the best way to confirm these suppositions would be greatly
appreciated.
