Greetings from a New Lister ,
Although my own family is 100% North Riding of Yorkshire I know
that other branches moved away c 1700 .
One member James moved to London and was in due course granted the Manor
House at Richmond (Surrey) ,by the King .
We have little other information on James
This property seems to have remained in the SAYER family and a Robert Sayer
, of Sibton ,Suffolk lived there in 1856 .

Robert SAYER (c 1724-1794) ,the Map and Print publisher, is also believed
to have lived at Richmond at some stage. Robert had a brother James and
these two may have been born at Wymondham , Norfolk . A James became Steward
of the Royal Manor of Richmond
Robert is of particular interest in view of his high standing in his
profession .

Thus there could be a link between the East Anglian and YorkshireSAYER
families . The Yorkshire branch is well documented in the 1400 to 1650
period and I can provide details for anyone interested .
In addition I have a few more details on the Southern families but as yet
they are uncoordinated . As ever there are always more questions than
answers .

I would very much like to have any information which might clarify this
problem or to hear from anyone who would be interested in working with me

Best Wishes ,

Harry Sayer ,
Ambleside ,
Cumbria ..
