Subject: Suffolk dialect

I grew up on an isolated ranch in southern Colorado primarily with my dad
and he grew up comparably with a dad and other relatives from Suffolk. I
hear Dad's taped voice and say, "Golly, Dad talked so southern!" And people
ask what part of the American south I'm from and often guess that I'm from
Texas.

My sister talks same way as I do. Does Suffolk dialect sound much like
that of the American south? I'd like to really talk to someone in the know
so I can find out how much of my speech is Suffolk.
