I have had a lot of replies to this query, mostly off list, so I would
like this to be my "official" thank you to everyone out there who sent
me an answer.

The concensus is that the transcription is more or less
accurate....shame, because on the face of it, it looked silly and
appealed to my sense of humour.

I think I will have to investigate further at a later date (I am
spending allmy energy on the 1901 at the moment - who isn't?)
