Hi Barbara

I think "Coney Weston" comes from Anglo Saxon from High German "Koenigs" -
ton ie "the King's Village". I don't know but I think the village land
was originally (ie 1066 and all that) owned by the King as part of the
Royal Demesne. I may well be wrong. My only authority for venturing an
opinion is that I was born there.
