I am researching in Lexden, Essex. It is next to Colchester and I
believe is now one of the suburbs. The main road appears to be Water
Lane, where most of my ancestors lived and I have an old map of it that
I may be able to scan and send to you if you are interested.

What name are you after in Lexden? I am researching HOWARD/HAYWARD,
WARREN, and have collected information on other connecting names such as
COE, BARKER, ALSTON, GOODWIN, etc.

I am trying to locate the exact whereabouts of Lexden Essex, I know
this is not relevant to this site but my British road atlas for 2003
does not have it listed and although I can find plenty of web sites with
it mentioned none so far have indicated exactly where it is.

I did not want to join the Essex site just to ask this question, or at
least not yet. Since I am not even sure this person is the one I am
