Subject: [SFK-UK] Dore or Bird...1890's in Waldingfield?
Date: Sat, 26 Jul 2003 19:58:07 -0400

I have acquired a death certificate and I need more research on the information
and people on that document. Here is most of it:

Registration District: Sudbury
1890 Death in Sub-district of Melford, in the Counties of Suffolk and Essex
13 Aug 1890 The Green Great Waldingfield
Arthur Edward Dore, male, 11 years, son of Walter Dore, Grocer
Cause of death: Brights disease of the kidneys 5 months,
Dropsy 4 months. Certified by H.D. King MD
X The mark of James Bird, In charge of Deceased present at the death,
Residence: The Green Great Waldingfield
Registered 7 Sept 1890

My questions to the list individuals would be:
1. Does anyone know more about Brights disease? Specifically if it was
hereditary or something contagious/spread? This boy was a twin and the twin
dies at the age of 37 from kidney problems/complications.
2. Does anyone have links to the mentioned James Bird? Walter's wife dies in
1886 and leaves him with 6 small children...I'm hoping to learn more about the
BIRD family and if they had other DORE children perhaps?
3. Does anyone have any info about a Walter Dore being in the Suffolk County
area...perhaps the 1891 census? Or what would be another resource for me to
search as I believe Walter dies within a few years...he's listed as deceased on
a sons marriage certificate in 1902...(or perhaps that's what the son had been
told when given up for adoption...?)...

Thanks for any assistance or suggestions!
