Hello,
I am afraid that adoption records are not open for inspection. Adoption (in
England) only became an official legal process in 1929, so the oldest court
records are only 74 years old - whether they will be made available publicly
when they become 100 years old, I have no idea. Sorry to be so negative.
Maybe if you give more detail of what you are trying to discover, I or
someone else on the list might be able to suggest an alternative source for
the information.
However, I have just seen the addition information you sent to the list, and
it may be that the daughter, as a direct relation of the person concerned,
may be able to find out more. I would suggest going to the NORCAP web site,
at: http://www.norcap.org.uk/ NORCAP is an organisation which deals with
the whole matter of adopted people tracing birth parents, and vice versa.
There will be contact details on their site, so if the daughter were to
email them, I am sure that they would know whether or not she would be able
to access the details, and if so, how.
Regards,
