Dear Listers,
We're having difficulty with c1889 records for a child
placed in an orphanage / home. The original record is
almost illegible.
One transcription suggests the address may possibly be
6 Viney (Vine?) Street, Ipswich
Could anyone tell us if this actually _was_ an Ipswich
address at this time period?
The child (Mary Ann HOPWOOD, parents unknown so far)
apparently lived for a short time with a Mrs. Barker at this
address, c1887-89?, before going to the orphanage at age 3,
about 1889.
Mary Ann may have been born in Lancashire in April 1886; we
hope to check the GRO index and other leads.
Any help would be appreciated - thank you!
Joan
