I've been off the list for a couple of months and am pleased to be back. My husband descended from Josiah's grandson, James and Juda (Julia) Sullins through their daughter, Susan (born about 1844) who married J. B. Cooper. Their daughter, Sarah Frances Cooper, born July 4, 1866, married John Henry. Their son, Jesse Henry (b. January 15, 1883) married Lola Lee Smith. Their daughter, Ethel Henry, married Fred Bowers--my husband's parents.
I'm not sure if anyone is interested in the following concerning James and Juda Sullins who were in Cannon County, TN in 1850--but here goes.
In 1860, the family of James and Julia Sullins were in Marion County, Arkansas--p. 556. The census listing is as follows:
James Sullins--age 45--b. in TN; Julia--age 48--b. in TN;
Jane--age 20--b. in TN; Frances, age 18, b. in TN; Susan, age 16, b. in TN; James, age 14, b. in TN; Julia Ann, age 10, b. in TN; John R., age 8, b. in TN; and William N., age 6, b. in TN.
Their older son, Jesse Sullins age 23, born in TN, who was on the 1850 Cannon County census lived next door to the James Sullins household with his wife Rachel, age 19, b. in TN and his child, Phillip (11 mos.?) born in AR.
A daughter of James and Julia Sullins who married Philip Cooper in 1852 in Cannon Co., TN was also in Marion County, AR in 1860 in Union Twp., p. 553. The census listing for this family is as follows: Philip Cooper--age 27--born in TN; Margaret (Sullins)--age 25--bn. in TN; Martha S.?
--age 7, bn. in AR; Mary A.--age 5--bn. in AR; and James B.,--age 2, bn in AR.
The 1860 census for Marion County, Union Twp. was taken on June 8, 1860.
