My 4th GreatUncle was JAMES BELL (Jr.), he was lost on the Sultana April 27,
1865. He was a recruit in 9th Calv. (121 Reg.) Co. H Indiana, having
enlisted at either Columbus or Franklin IN, his residence at the time being
Johnson County IN. Does anyone have a little history on the men in this
Company of Calvary? I can guess that he may have been a released prisoner, as
that is what many men on the boat were I'm told. Thanks for any
