Sorry, I didn't think of that. According to Amazon:
Emma Eileen Grove: Mississippi, 1865 (American Diaries, No 2)
by Kathleen Duey
List Price: $3.99
Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours.
Reading level: Ages 9-12
Mass Market Paperback - 140 pages 1 Aladdin edition (April 1996)
Aladdin Paperbacks; ISBN: 0689803850
My personal review: I really like this book. I found it quite suitable for
kids the recommended ages, and maybe a little younger. My mother bought me
a copy several years ago, and we passed it around the house, two adults, a
teen-aged boy, and finally my daughter who was eight at the time. We all
liked it a lot. The author does a very good job of conveying the size and
magnitude of the tragedy without including the kind of details that might
be too intense for children. The descriptions are incredible. There is one
passage where several of the characters are making their way along the
deck, after the explosion, and one of the characters is bare-foot. My
entire family agreed that part made our feet hurt.
I should add that it is historical fiction; my only complaint is there are
no notes explaining more about the actual history of the Sultana.
