Dear Mr.Markland:
I learned about the Sultana from an article written by Gene Saleker in a Civil War History magazine while I was living in Boston, MA. In the succeeding two years I have studied the events and people in detail and have begun writing about it. Even more surprising, the tides of my life now find me living in Senatobia,MS about 30 miles from the bend in the river where the Sultana met her fate.
Sincerely,
Thomas J. Lynch

"roll call":
How did you first hear about the Sultana?
If you had an ancestor on board, who were they and what was their fate?
Do you plan on commemorating the anniversary in any particular way?
All the best,
David Markland

found, and I presume he was killed in the initial explosion.
