-- his mother Mary died 1881 in Boston, father died 1906 in Boston
-- Maurice "went west" late 1880s / early 1890s, location unknown
-- as far as is known, rest of the family stayed in Boston area
-- 1880 census says Maurice was a plumber (age 17 ?? ), dim family history
