Yes, its' too bad that Ted Turner had to screw up the story the way he did. 

He left out several key characters so that he could make his "Stonewall" 

love fest.

This came over another email list to me.  Thought you might like to know.

Hope it does get picked up eventually. I was in 'Gods and Generals," the

best place to see me of the several is Chancellorsville where Lee comes up

and does his lost his right hand, Jackson lost his left spiel.  I noticed in

watching I'm the only Confederate whose canteen and haversack straps make an

X on my back.

I will say Robert Duvall is very nice and chatted with the reenactors

between takes.  During the filming he was reading "Cold Mountain" which of

course became another period movie.
