Commander Virts, thank you thank you sir, for the information concerning
your Camp conducting your Memorial Day program on May 30th. This is what
it
is all about, not being a follower but being a leader. And by you
holding it
on the 30th, makes the committee to restore Memorial Day very very happy
and

I know you will raise eyebrows by having it on the 30th.
Again Congratulations.

In F. C. & L.

Al Peterson,
David Merchant

Brother Ernest,

The Lincoln-Cushing Camp of the Department of Maryland will conduct its
Memorial Day Observance at both the Tomb of Civil War Unknowns and the
Old Amphitheater at Arlington National Cemetery high atop Arlington
Heights across the Potomac River from our Nation's Capital. The service
will begin at 5:00 PM at the Old Amphitheater on Friday, May 30.
Participating will be Commander-in-Chief Charles Kuhn, Department
Commander Neil Hanlon, the U. S. Marine Corps Band Brass Quintet and
Field Drummer, the Gettysburg Blues Color Guard, the 1st U. S. Regulars
Honor Guard, and salutes from Artillery Batteries of the U. S.
Volunteers. The SUVCW and various other patriotic organizations will
lay floral wreaths at the Tomb of Civil War Unknowns. This program is
open to the public free.

Following the ceremony will be our Camp dinner program at 7:15 PM at the
Channel Inn, 650 Water St., SW, Washington, DC, featuring a presentation
on the Post-War Relationship between President Ulysses S. Grant and John
Singleton Mosby, formerly the "Gray Ghost," which epitomized the
reconciliation of former foes across the nation. All are welcome. RSVP
for this dinner meeting with $30 by May 28 to:
Lt. Col. Robert Stine
Secretary/Treasurer
Lincoln-Cushing Camp # 2, SUVCW

My interview time has been set to be a guest on Denny Radio at 11:31
this
FRIDAY, 23 May. I will be talking on Memorial Day and we will talk
about
celebrations and how many youth do not understand its meaning.

If you know of celebrations in your area, please advise me as I will be
able
to plug a few. I already will plug Memorial Day in Marietta, Georgia as
I'm
attending that one.

Denny Schaffer does an online radio show that is also broadcast in
Toledo,
Ohio over the airwaves.

To listen you will need to goto
http://DennyRadio.com<http://dennyradio.com/>and do a free
registration.

I hope you will still join me Friday to show support on the Memorial Day
Issue.

Please forward as you see fit.
