Hi;
I am not an expert, but my Lenggenhager family left St. Gallen, Switzerland
in 1750. The Archive in that Canton said the main route was down the Rhine
to Holland.

so I believe that they left from there. My mother said that they left from
"Holland".

by a ship from Holland or -- if my mother was mistaken -- she was only 9 at
the time. Or could the ship have made a stop in Amsterdam or Rotterdam?

Can you travel by boat up the Rhein from Lindau or would they have gone by
train??
