Hi Listers,
Would be very grateful if someone could confirm that the place described in the following paragraph, transcribed from family diaries, is in Geneva. Willie, christened in 1900 was my grandfather and I would like to find the original christening entry in the Parish Registers if possible.
"Another trip we made was by clog railway (feniculaire) to the Saleve and at the Hotel where we had tea, we met Prof. Patterson of Edinburgh with his wife and daughter- they were spending a 6 weeks holiday in Savoy and every Sunday the Professor took the Presbyterian service in the Chapelle des Maccabees at the Cathedral. On one of those Sundays, Dad officiated as elder, at the Communion Service. This is the same "Chapelle" where Willie was christened in 1900 and where Elisa was married in 1901".
Many thanks.
Nick Beaton.
