Dear Anne,
I was sure there were a whole bunch of Dietikon or similarly spelled
towns in Switzerland, but not so.
There is none spelled "Didekon", either.
Dietikon is actually just across the kantonal border of Kanton Aargau
in the Kanton Zürich (ZH), looking westward from the city of Zürich.
It looks like it is close and on the westside of the River Limmat
which flows into the Zürcher Lake. As Larry mentioned, you'd have to
study that history to find out if the "long arm of Bern" also ruled
over that region in 1570 (I wouldn't put it past them!) But now its
definitely in Kanton ZH.
(Larry and I are both Aargauer, so I can see why he claimed it for AG
;-)
