I finally figured out a method to get the pages of the Disallowed Claims of
the Southern Claims Commission for NC on-line in the most effficient (for me)
manner. Transcribing or doing OCR on them was to laborious, so I have simply
scanned the pages and created an index of claimants and witnesses mentioned.

This can be looked at by going to my web site:

The link to the index is in the NEW section. At the index, click on the page
number with the information.

Current entries (1871 claims) are largely from Wake with other claims from
New Hanover, Greene, Lincoln, Madison, Cherokee, and Cumberland.

Let me know if I need to make the images smaller for those of you who use
dial-up modems. Reply to me directly rather than clogging up list mailboxes
with suggestion improvements <grin>. I don't need any list sheriffs
organizing a lynch party for me!!!

BTW, I was in such a hurry to get out to cut the two weeks worth of grass
waiting for me, I forgot to sort the surnames alphabetically but will correct
that the next installment.
