I'm trying to find out information on John Martin, who was born about August
, 1843 and enlisted in the Civil War at the age of 18 and served 4 years in
Company G of the 27 Ohio Vol. Infantry, who was from Vernon Twp in Scioto
County.

A marker to him exists in the Pine Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Green
Twp., Scioto Co. It also cited my Great Great Grandfather James T. Martin,
who enlisted at age of 38 in Febraury of 1865 and died from the effects of
tyfoid fever in August of 1865 in Baltimore, Md.

Any information on him and his family would be greatly appreciated.
