Hi, I've been going through Polmont's records.

First of all for the person who can't find MURDOCHs -- they are
hiding out in Polmont. Check out the Scottish church record CD.

For those of us that thought MacIsmael was funny. There are
MacIsaacs.

Why you can't find your ancestor .... transcripts from the Polmont,
Stirling parish records.

Dec 15, 1852 "No records of funerals for the last year can be obtained
from the grave digger who has been recently remiss in his office."

Oct 23, 1841 No mortcloth for poor Irish shearer
Oct 27, 1841 Ditto for a person cast on shore at fav...
July 16, 1840 Ditto for an Irishman's child

The recorded funerals do not have the names of the children:
May 19, 1947 No Mortcloth for George Munnoch, Wallaston
Mar 3, 1847 No mortcloth for William Dalrymple's child
July 6, 1843 No morthcloth for the Dalrymple child D
April 13, 1842 No mortcloth for John Munnoch's child
Aug 18, 1840 No mortcloth for Francis Dalrymple, Wallstone

Grrrrrrr
