The Moors came from North Africa into Spain. That is where the theory that
survivors of the Spanish Armada settled in Ireland and started the Black
Irish. That theory has been discounted by historians because there were not
enough survivors that made it to Ireland. Besides, the people in Ireland do
not know the origin of the term Black Irish and know nothing about it. It
is entirely of American origin.
