Jeanne, I live in Orlando, but am in St. Louis right now doing genealogy
research and saw your post to the St. Louis list. Do you think your
grandparents were born in St. Louis? If so, then your great-grandparents
lived there, and therefore most likely are buried in St. Louis. Were they
Catholic? If so, they might be buried in Calvary Cemetery. I called there
yesterday, and gave them the names of my great-grandparents, and within a
minute, the lady in the office looked up the surnames on the compuer, and gave
me the date of death and lot and Section # of their burial plot for all of
them! She also told me if I come to the office there, she will give me a map
of the cemetery so I can go find their grave! Calvary Cemetery phone number
is (314) 381-1313. If they were not Catholic, they might be buried in the
adjoining cemetery, Bellefontaine Cemetery. Their number is (314) 381-0750.
These are both huge cemeteries, so it is certainly worth a call. They have
morning hours on Saturday. One of my great-grandparents was born in Germany
also and she is buried in Calvary. Also, I got some great information about
where to obtain different records here in St. Louis. I will be posting them
to the list very soon. Good luck. Elaine from Orlando
