Subject: [StLouis-MO-L] Manchester/Clayton Road area
Date: Tue, 2 Mar 1999 07:29:38 PST

The St. Louis directory (1869) shows an address for Peter
Rodenhauser, blacksmith, working for G. Graff and boarding in the
area called Rock Springs. The 1878 Atlas shows this area was just
outside the city and would not be in a city ward. Was this possibly
in Bonhomme or Central Township?--especially in the area where
Manchester and Clayton once intersected.

Also, not far east off of Lindbergh on Manchester Road, I passed by
the Green Tree Plaza. Is this where the Green Tree Hotel (1880)
might once have stood?

Thank you for any information regarding this.
