Patricia,
There's a lot of information out there on the internet, to be sure, but please be guarded in what you read. Just because it's written, on the internet or elsewhere, doesn't make it true. As Sharon indicated, there is no proof yet that any of the American immigrant Taber/Tabor's descend from Sir John. Perhaps they did, perhaps they didn't. If your ancestor put together a tree that show's descent from Sir John, then it was only speculation. Please consider it such.
Since you are interested in a family tree, you can go to this link and browse your ancestry as it is posted. I have not verified any of this information. As always in genealogy, that is best left to the reader.

I descend from Captain Thomas Taber, son of the immigrant Philip (immigrated to Mass. before 1633). Captain Thomas was a brother of your ancestor Joseph (at least as identified in the above link).
There was at least one southern immigrant Taber/Tabor early on, as Sharon points out, probably to the Virginia colony. Again, no proof that that immigrant is related to Philip.
