I have not heard of this, although it is common that the spelling of names
was VERY loose. People spelled names the way they sounded so spelling is
not a good way to determine a blood line.
Talbot is a very old name, predating the [Domesday 1086] book.
It is an old French name predating the Norman-Saxon time.
I did a search on this at http://www.talbots.net/ and came up with no matches.

Isn't Talbot a derivative of Torbert which existed in the Domesday Book?
There are numerous examples of Torbert in the 1080A.D. book.
