Hello to all Tally list members............
in particular those who might be my distant cousins. I'm new to the
Tally list, and know little about my Tally ancestors. My first and
foremost objective is to learn the identity of my direct line of
Tallys, and then perhaps branch off on different lines of the family.

My gr. grandmother Eliza Jane Tally married Isaac Robert Higginbotham
on August 7, 1856, perhaps in Coffee County, Tennessee - OR, maybe in
Franklin county, Tennessee. Eliza was born on April 12, 1843. They
had three sons and a daughter, all born in Franklin County. Eliza
Jane died as a young woman on January 1, 1869, in the midst of the
terrible reconstruction period following the War Between The States.
We have never found her grave, but presume that she was buried in
Franklin county, Tennessee. My gr. grandpa was a Confederate soldier,
in the 41st Regiment, Company G. After Eliza died he married again,
and in 1879, moved to Cherokee County, Alabama.

Any information or suggestions you can offer would certainly be
appreciated.
