I am searching for anyone who may have information on Guy Preston Tanner.
Died is 1933-1934? in Texarkana, TX or AR, not sure which state. His wife
was Mirtie Lee Taylor-Tanner and her maiden name was Williams. If anyone
out there is familiar with these names please email me.
Guy Preston was my grandfather. He and Mirtie had 3 daughters, Gladys Geneva
, Bernice Marie and Mary Lou. Mary Lou is my mother. She was 6-7 when he
died and she nor her sisters remember anything about their family. I've
been doing research with my cousins and we've all come to a dead end. If
my mother remembers correctly the Tanner's came from Oklahoma to Texas/Arkansas.
My mom was born in Cookville Texas in 1927. She grew up on Richmond road
in Texarkana.
Guy Preston bled to death. My mother remembers her mother telling her that
he died of Malaria of the bone, however, in a search of this type of disease,
I've only found Malaria and Aplastic Anemia. She said his hips we're surgically
split open and the bones were scraped. Not sure why though. He bled to
death after surgery in Michael Meeger hospital in Texarkana, services were
held at the East Funeral Home in Texarkana and he was buried at Moores
Chapel on Richmond road in Texarkana. The hospital, funeral home and cemetary
have all since changed names.
If anyone has any information please contact me at .
Thank you so much.
