Jean, I'm posting your info to the others. Hopefully someone will recognize
him. I don't have him in my data. Good luck! Fran

Hi Fran,
Thank you for submitting my message to the list. I sure hope someone
responds with something for sure.
I cannot find anything for my Edward Tanner before he came to Decatur Co.
Indiana in 1819. He was one of the first landowners in that county and
bought it with Virginia currency according to what the archives in
Indianapolis sent me. In all the Decatur Co. census he claims to have been
born in KY. 1791. KY. was not a state officially until 1792 and up to that
time was known as Kanawha or VA. or WVA. He married Sarah McGinnis but I
have no record of their marriage. She (census) born 1792 in PA. Edward
Tanner died 1865 and Sarah Tanner died 1876 in Decatur Co. Indiana and I have
picture of their tombstone with dates. They are buried in Shiloh Cemetery in
Adams Twsp. in Decatur Co. Indiana.
They raised a family of 8 daughters and one son and I have all data of their
marriages . All children born in Indiana and married in Decatur Co. Indiana.
This is my mothers family and I have from her birth 1888 back to Edward
Tanner's birth 1791. I need help.
Jean
