I don't have your Tanner names in my database - what caught my eye was the
Middleton. Hezekiah Tanner (born 1785NC) married widow Elizabeth Austin in
GA. She had been married to a Cleaton - and had a son named Middleton
Cleaton.
For whatever reason - Middleton and Cleaton have become prominent given names
in our Tanner line.
The first I know of my Tanners is when John (Hezekiah's father) married 08
March 1790 (widow) Mary Nickson (Nixon) in Mecklenburg County, NC. They
moved to Oglethorpe County, GA and his descendants on to Walton, Gwinnett and
Barrow Counties, GA.
