My Tarver family from Wilson County TN and those who later migrated to Clark County, Arkansas were Methodists too but some did later convert to the Baptist faith.

<< Lotus,
Meaning no disrespect to the Baptist faith, but I am pretty sure the
TARVER family I am searching for was probably Methodist, as were all members
of my DANIEL Family in Jefferson County, GA.
My question is - who was this Rev. John TARVER you mentioned and how
does he relate to this TARVER family from GA?. If he were ordained in the
SC Conference that means he was probably related to Mark TARVER Clan that
lived in Barnhill, SC. MATTHEWS is also a collateral DANIEL name I watch
for.
I do have a John TARVER that is a son of Wilson TARVER who is a son of
Mark E. TARVER and Eva ARDEN. WILSON is also a collateral DANIEL name I
track.
If John is a TARVER family name then Mark may have had a son named John
or more than likely from the dates you list this John may have been a
brother of Mark TARVER. I also have that John S. TARVER who died in 1863
who was married to a Lucretia and died in Mobile County, AL that interests
me because I cannot seem to find out, with any degree of certainty, the name
of the TARVER that married Lucretia DANIEL bout 1835. Some say it is an
Allen TARVER, son of Mark, but that is just supposition on their part and
they admit that.
