I'm thinking Andrew's son John is an unlikely candidate ... any deeds of
1804 should identify this John as John Tarver "of Wilkes Co Ga" rather
than John Jr.
John's brother, Frederick, left a will in Northampton Co., NC 1794 in
which he left "unto my Brother John Tarver all my lands in the State of
Georgia."
Several years earlier, in 1790, this John Tarver (son of Andrew) drew land
in Wilkes County:

Jno Tarver Wilkes Co. 105a 1790 TTT 240
Jno Tarver Wilkes Co. 275a 1790 TTT 241
Although Wilkes County GA is not that far (say 80 miles?), deeds as early
as 1792 identify this John Tarver "of Wilkes Co." It appears, from
recorded deeds (see below), that John may have owned property in Wilkes
County as early as 1787.

NOTES
--------
Andrew Tarver's son, John, married Elizabeth Jordan - His will is found in
Wilkes Co., Georgia: ". . . all estate to be divided between my wife
Elizabeth and my six children, Richard Tarver, Patience Gibson, Mason,
Charlotte, Benjamin and Andrew." Exrs. Friends, David Bates and James
Jordon Test: Anderson Bates, James Duke, Josiah Jordan (Wilkes Co.,
Georgia, /s/ 20 Apr 1808, /p/ 7 Jan 1811).
John's will names second wife, Elizabeth (Heath?) as is shown by her
subsequent suit against John's children regarding settlement of John's
estate (Book P, Folio 306 & 331). In her petition 18 Apr 1814 Elizabeth
says she married John Tarver, dec'd, Sept. 5, 1795 and on Apr. 26, 1808 he
signed his will in which he named his children Richard Tarver, Patience
Gibson (then and now the wife of Wm. Gibson), Mason Tarver, (then the wife
of Robt. Tarver and since intermarried with Wm. Gilliam), Charlotte
Tarver, (then and now the wife of Samuel Tarver), Benj. and Andrew Tarver,
all of Wilkes Co., except Charlotte and Samuel who reside in Burke
Co. Both wills, that of John Tarver and of Elizabeth Tarver are online in
the /records/probate/ga/ section of Tarver-Gen.
In Original Papers of Wilkes County, pp. 301, 302, in returns pertaining
to the Estate settlement, is found the name of George Jordan, father of
John Tarver's first wife, Elizabeth Jordan - whom George Jordan also names
in his will Northampton Co., NC (WB 2, p. 9, will no. 340, /s/ 22 Dec
1787, /p/ June Crt 1792).
