I saw this posting on another list. It has a TAYLOR in it.

Hello

I am researching a STEELE in my family. My great grandfather, Joseph
Henry
HAWKINS, is the hardest line for me to find any information. It stops
with
him. Here is what I know according to family history:

Joseph Henry Hawkins' mother (Elizabeth??) came from Ireland as a
foundling
(no family). So, I have no idea of Joseph's father's name. She may
have been
pregnant when she came to America. Joseph had a half brother named Will

Hawkins TAYLOR who is buried in the old section of Lot Cemetery with no
marker. Joseph also had a half brother named Doc STEELE. Family
history says
that he was a country doctor. He was supposed to have lived at Wafford,

Kentucky which I think is in Whitley County. Joseph also had a half
sister
named Elizabeth who lived at Gatliff. The problem is I can't find a
scrap of
information so far. All I have found is Joseph Henry living in High
Cliff,
Campbell County, TN in 1900 married to Elizabeth TIDWELL.

Any clues or suggestion will be appreciated.
